Julie Gregorio grew up in Gettysburg, PA, where she began her vocal study with Gettysburg College professor Kermit Finstad. She received her B.A. with Honors from Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, PA, where she majored in English Literature with a concentration in Creative Writing, and minored in Music. A frequent soloist with the Swarthmore Chorus and Chamber Choir, she studied with distinguished voice teacher Julian Rodescu, and twice attended the Florence Voice Festival on full scholarship. During her senior year, Julie performed the role of Pamina in Mozart's Die Zauberflšte, Swarthmore's first-ever fully staged opera.

Julie received a Master's degree in vocal performance in 2007 from the Mannes College of Music in New York, NY. While at Mannes, Julie studied with the celebrated soprano Amy Burton, a frequent performer at the Metropolitan Opera and New York City Opera. Julie also coached with Kamal Khan and Thomas Bagwell. She performed in concerts of opera scenes and sang with the Mannes Vocal Repertory Ensemble as well as numerous choral and new music ensembles.

Julie and her husband Andrew Stout live in East Longmeadow, MA, and Julie is an active voice and piano teacher in the Hartford area. She is a soprano section leader and soloist at Center Church in Hartford and sings with the professional choral ensemble CONCORA under the direction of Richard Coffey. She is also a soprano section leader with the Hartford Chorale, the 170-voice chorus that often performs with the Hartford Symphony. In June of 2008, Julie performed the role of Susanna in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro in New York City with the collaborative opera project "Le Nozze NY," conducted by Silas Huff with the Astoria Symphony. She has appeared with the Eastern Festival Opera in Westchester, NY, and Hillhouse Opera in New Haven, CT, and sang in the chorus of the internationally-reviewed revivals of Meyerbeer's Les Huguenots and Shrecker's Der Ferne Klang at Bard College's Summerscape Festival, in productions directed by Thaddeus Strassberger and conducted by Leon Botstein with the American Symphony Orchestra.
